STAFF TRAINING
 

Free test-related on-site training is available to statewide contracts and high volume users.  Low volume test users sometimes join together for a combined training workshop.  A rule-of-thumb for on-site staff training is "at least 35 people must attend."  On-site staff-training sessions are usually 6 hours in length.  Attendees are often provided hour-for-hour educational credits.  Risk & Needs provides handout materials and certificates of training-free.

Attendees at state contracted testing programs involving the Driver Risk Inventory-II, Domestic Violence Inventory or Defendant Questionnaire are given CD Tutorials at their training sessions.  Otherwise these Power Point Tutorials are loaned on a 30-day cost free basis or sold at a nominal $35 price.

Participating Risk & Needs staff are usually reimbursed for airfare and room-and-board.  Senior staff remuneration is decided on an individual basis.

A wide variety of staff use Risk & Needs tests.  Test users include, but are not limited to, school personnel, probation officers, drug courts, counselors, probation departments, diversion programs, general defendant population courts, DUI/DWI programs, prisons, parole departments, treatment programs, EAP's, hospitals, evaluation agencies, health care professionals, mental health professionals, etc.  Attendees at these training session's are provided hand out materials, certificates of attendance, and as discussed earlier CD Tutorials.

Risk & Needs has its test users sign an agreement, and only those test users are allowed to administer its tests.  For clarity, departments, agencies, and groups can sign this agreement, and these agreements apply to the staff represented therein. With Risk & Needs there are no hidden costs or obligations.  There is only one cost, and that's the test unit fee.

STAFF TRAINING. Individual staff are encouraged to review the tests Orientation and Training Manual, Computer Operating Guide, One-Page Quick Start and the tests descriptive materials. These materials are provided upon request.

All people involved in a tests administration, scoring and printing of reports and program administrators should review the test or tests involved on Risk & Needs Assessment, Inc. website at www.riskandneeds.com. This site incorporates all Risk & Needs tests. Each test is described, an example report is presented and a research study is set forth. Go to the Tests Alphabetically Listed webpage, scroll down until you come to the tests name you are looking for, click on the name and you will be transported to that tests webpage. Then you might click on the Annual Summary Reports link to review eight example summary reports. And six tests database research summaries are also provided for review. On site training requires 35+ people at each training session. Statewide contracts and departmental contracts can involve on-site training. Training for introductory statewide programs usually occurs at two locations in a state. Group training is provided at these 6-hour sessions. Computer linked visual displays augment discussions. Handout materials include: Computer Operating Guide (computer setup, scoring and printing reports), the Orientation and Training Manual, One-Page Quick Start and test-related materials. These are the materials that are provided all new Risk & Needs test users.
