PREFACE

The purpose of Risk & Needs Assessment, Inc.’s (Risk & Needs) website is to introduce Risk & Needs tests. This website is designed for people interested in testing (evaluations, assessments and screening). And, it is understood that visitors’ background, purpose and motivation will influence their site research. That is why this site is designed with multiple search options.

For example, if you know the name of the test you are looking for, you can go to the Alphabetically Listed Tests webpage, click on the test’s name and go directly to that test’s webpage. In contrast, if you don’t know a test’s name, but understand what the test will be used for, you can go to the Functionally Grouped Tests webpage, click on the tests’ names that are of interest to you and go directly to their webpages.

All test webpages are set up the same way in that they begin with a test’s description, explain the test’s unique features, provide an example report, and then via link take you to that tests research. Using the same format or outline for each test’s webpage facilitates comparison. These are very direct, yet comprehensive and thorough test oriented procedures. Other navigational aids that can help speed up your search include the Sitemap (links to tests, their example report and research) and the Internal Search page (enter one or two keywords, and the frequency of occurrence on each site page is displayed. Then, click on the desired link to go to that page of the website.). More navigational links are available in each webpage’s text to help meet visitors’ navigational needs.

Although Risk & Needs clientele includes both small volume (solo practitioners) and large volume (state contracts) test users, this website should be of interest to people in both groups. How you progress through this site is a uniquely individualized experience.

NAVIGATIONAL AIDS

Links to the major webpages always appear in the left margin of each webpage and at the end of webpages. They are provided for easy navigation. End of webpage links may vary according to the information (test description, example report, test-related research) being presented.
